Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler Pacifica Named “Best-in-Class” by AutoPacific

Great news: AutoPacific just named the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler Pacifica Best in Class! If you’re a fan of either of these vehicles, you already know how fantastic they really are. If you’ve never driven one before, it’s our job as your Jeep Indianapolis dealer to give you a proper introduction. Stick around and learn more about these excellent cars as we explore the winners in greater detail.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The new 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a brilliant machine. Starting at just over $30,000, it’s also one of the more affordable options on this year’s Best in Class list. Nearly all surveyed drivers report that the Cherokee exceeded expectations, but that’s nothing new: This is Jeep’s seventh consecutive year winning the prize.

As for lauded features, drivers loved the Cherokee’s premium SUV design, including a “refined exterior” design and bi-xenon headlamps. They also appreciate the signature LED daytime running lamps (DRL).

George Peterson, current president of AutoPacific, has spoken at length about the Cherokee’s diversity and long-standing commitment to going above and beyond as deciding factors that solidified the win.

“The Grand Cherokee is a perennial best-in-class winner in AutoPacific’s Ideal Vehicle Awards. Its excellent design, capability and breadth of the product offering contribute to Grand Cherokee’s award-winning ways.”

The Chrysler Pacifica

As for Chrysler’s new Pacifica minivan, it’s a first win for it. Unlike the Cherokee, the Chrysler Pacifica has never won the award before, but that doesn’t mean president Peterson and the Auto Pacifica crew felt any less excited about the minivan receiving the award.

Peterson says the Pacifica “checks all the boxes a minivan owner desires,” and he’s absolutely right. This year’s model contains over 100 safety and security features, as well as a Uconnect Theater built into the vehicle’s rear seats. That makes it especially fantastic for families with young children (or cantankerous teens). It also has one of the most incredible arrangements of convenience technologies available this year.

Cherokee vs. Pacifica

So, what do these two vehicles look like in a head-to-head? First of all, the Pacifica is the clear winner when it comes to the needs of families and larger groups. As a minivan, this is a benefit that’s inherent. Of course, the Jeep Grand Cherokee isn’t so bad, either. With its youthful and stylish interior and exterior, it’s a young driver’s dream come true.

Chrysler Pacifica

One major area where the Pacifica outshined the competition this year lies in the fact that Chrysler created it as a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) minivan. For the eco-conscious, that’s a feature they simply can’t pass up.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, of course, has no such feature, but it does have a gorgeous updated front grille and fascia. What Jeep calls the “purpose-built luxury” interior is just, overall, more comfortable than the Pacifica, too. The wrapped leather interior and accents mature it (just a bit)—making it ideal for singles, couples, and anyone who just loves driving a sweet ride.
